FAQs

Q. Where will the race festivities be held?
Due to construction on the Boston Common, the exact location of the pre- and post-race activities has yet to be finalized. As soon as this information becomes available, it will posted on the Event Details section of this Web site. Please note that the race course will remain the same.

Q. Can I participate in the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women if I intend to walk the route, not run?
A. Absolutely. Walkers are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Q. How is the race timed?
A. The Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women will be utilizing the ChronoTrack Timing System. When you receive your number, you will notice that a ChronoTrack Timing Tag has been pre-assigned and affixed to your bib number. This tag contains a microchip which identifies you with your bib number through radio frequency identification technology. Before the race, you should remove the tag from your bib number and follow the directions to properly place the ChronoTrack tag onto your sneaker. ChronoTrack tag placement instructions can be found on the Race Day Runner Information Sheet or by clicking here.

Q. Do I have to return the ChronoTrack Tag?
A. No, the ChronoTrack tag is disposable, so you don't have to worry about returning it to race management after the race. Simply detach it from your sneaker after you have exited the water and food area.

Q. Do you allow baby joggers in the race?
A. Not officially. Because the race is a USA Track & Field sanctioned event, the rule states that baby strollers are not permitted. Runners pushing baby strollers are considered not “official.” If you still choose to run with a stroller, please seed yourself in the last seed and position yourself at the back of the race. Do not crisscross through the pack. Please try not to bump runners' feet with the stroller wheels and remember to call out to surrounding runners when you are passing. Following these guidelines will prevent accidents as well as avoid harm to yourself, your child, and other runners.

Q. Are we allowed to run with iPods?
A. To ensure the safety of yourself and other runners, we prefer that you do not run with an iPod or other personal music device.
